Autodesk AutoCAD 2022 is a computer-aided design application for architects, engineers, contractors, manufacturers, and technical designers. It supports precise DWG-based drawing creation, annotation, layouts, documentation, and 3D modelling across Windows and macOS.
The standout addition in AutoCAD 2022 is Trace, a review workflow that allows collaborators to add comments and markups in AutoCAD web or mobile without directly editing the underlying drawing. Those traces remain part of the drawing file and can be viewed alongside the original design on desktop, web, and mobile. The release also added Share, which creates a link to a drawing copy for browser-based viewing or editing, and enhanced Drawing History for tracking changes to supported cloud-stored DWG files. AutoCAD 2022 is a legacy version and may require an eligible subscription or existing licence entitlement to access.
Create and edit detailed 2D drawings, layouts, annotations, dimensions, and technical documentation.
Build and modify 3D models for design development and visualisation.
Use native DWG file workflows for CAD compatibility and document sharing.
Use Trace to add markups and feedback without changing the original drawing geometry.
View traces across AutoCAD desktop, web, and mobile applications.
Share a link to a drawing copy for collaborators to view or edit in AutoCAD Web.
Use Drawing History to compare previous versions of supported cloud-saved DWG files.
Access AutoCAD web and mobile workflows through a qualifying subscription.
Use included specialised toolsets for areas such as architecture, mechanical, electrical, MEP, Map 3D, Plant 3D, and Raster Design on Windows.
Apply familiar CAD tools for layers, blocks, external references, plotting, and documentation.
