King Arthur: Legion IX is a turn-based tactical RPG developed and published by NeocoreGames. It is a stand-alone expansion set in the King Arthur: Knight's Tale universe and was released on May 9, 2024 for PC.

You play as Gaius Julius Mento, a fallen Roman tribune who leads the undead Ninth Legion. While seeking a way out of Tartarus, the legion accidentally arrives on the mythical island of Avalon. Mento decides to conquer it and build an Eternal Rome, but first he must gather his scattered legion.

Battles take place on tactical maps where you move a squad of heroes, spend action points, and plan around terrain and enemy abilities. Foes include Pict tribes, monstrous Fomorians, the Sídhe, and knights of Mordred's Round Table, and the forces of the Old Faith and Christianity both play a role in the story.

The campaign runs across 15 handcrafted missions. Between battles, you rebuild and defend the only Roman colony in Avalon, develop your heroes, and make choices that affect how the story ends. The game is single-player only.

Legion IX suits fans of Knight's Tale who want a new Roman-themed campaign, as well as newcomers to tactical RPGs. Because it is stand-alone, you do not need the original game to play, and it works as a shorter entry point to the series.
