ZERO PARADES: For Dead Spies is ZA/UM's most ambitious project since Disco Elysium, a combatless, story-first RPG set in a world of paranoia, surrealism, and Cold War-style espionage. You step into the shoes of Hershel Wilk, codename CASCADE, an operative recalled from disgrace for an assignment nobody has fully explained. The city of Portofiro crackles with three-way ideological conflict, and every character you meet, international bankers, psychic doppelgangers, paranoid TV presenters, has an agenda.
Unlike most RPGs, Zero Parades is built around the idea that failure is not the enemy; it's the experience. When a dice roll goes wrong, the story doesn't stop. It redirects, and those consequences compound over time, shaping your spy network's loyalty, the city's routes available to you, and even the mental stability of your protagonist. The game features a Conditioning System, an evolution of Disco Elysium's Thought Cabinet that lets you reinforce specific thought patterns to unlock new dialogue paths and skills.
This is a game for fans of story-driven RPGs, narrative adventures, and immersive world-building who want something that challenges their thinking, not just their reflexes.
