X-Plane 12 is an advanced flight simulation platform developed and published by Laminar Research.
Built upon decades of flight simulation development, X-Plane 12 uses a sophisticated blade element theory flight model that calculates aerodynamic forces in real time. This approach provides realistic aircraft handling across a wide range of flight conditions, making the simulator popular among both hobbyists and aviation professionals
The simulator includes a diverse fleet of aircraft ranging from small general aviation planes to commercial airliners, helicopters, and military aircraft. Players can explore thousands of airports worldwide, navigate using realistic avionics systems, and experience detailed flight operations under changing weather conditions.
X-Plane 12 introduces major improvements over previous versions, including volumetric 3D clouds, dynamic weather systems, seasonal effects, enhanced lighting, realistic water simulation, improved air traffic, and more immersive environmental effects.
The simulator also supports extensive third-party add-ons, custom aircraft, scenery enhancements, and hardware peripherals.
