Wytchwood is a crafting adventure game developed by Alientrap. It released on December 9, 2021, for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The Steam version also supports macOS.

You play as the old witch of the woods in a land shaped by gothic fables and fairytales. The witch explores a strange countryside and deals with a cast of characters who each need to learn the moral of their story.

The core loop is gathering and crafting. You collect, grow and combine odd ingredients such as toxic toadstools, eye of newt and bottled fear, then use recipes to brew spells and curses. Those spells solve puzzles, outwit forest monsters and punish the greedy, for example by turning them into frogs.

The game uses a hand-painted storybook art style and focuses on exploration and puzzle-solving over combat. Progress comes from finishing quests and unlocking new recipes. New recipes open up fresh areas and problems to solve, so the world gradually expands as your spellcraft grows. The light puzzles reward careful reading of each character's story and the clues hidden around the countryside.

Wytchwood is single-player. It suits players who enjoy cozy crafting games, folklore and light puzzle adventures.
