World of Warcraft: The War Within is the tenth expansion for World of Warcraft, the massively multiplayer online RPG developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. It launched on August 26, 2024 for Windows PC and macOS and opens the Worldsoul Saga, a planned trilogy of expansions.

The expansion takes players into the underground realm of Khaz Algar, with zones including the Isle of Dorn, the Ringing Deeps, Hallowfall, and Azj-Kahet. The level cap rises to 80, and the Earthen, a new playable allied race, join the game.

The War Within introduced Delves, short instanced adventures that solo players or small groups can run with an NPC companion. It also added Warbands, an account-wide system that shares reputation, collections, and bank storage across your characters, plus Hero Talents that add a new layer of class customization.

Group content includes dungeons and raids, starting with the Nerub-ar Palace raid, along with Mythic+ and player-versus-player modes. Story-wise, the expansion follows the threat of Xal'atath and the Nerubian empire beneath Azeroth.

The War Within suits players returning to World of Warcraft or catching up on the Worldsoul Saga before Midnight.
