Whiskerwood is a city-building and colony management game developed by Minakata Dynamics and published by Hooded Horse. It launched in Steam Early Access for Windows PC on November 6, 2025.

Your mice arrive by ship on untouched islands with a small supply of resources. You set up core structures, fell trees, mine mountains, farm, and fish, then link everything into automated production chains and logistics networks.

Space is limited, so verticality is central. You can build upward into the sky or dig into cliffs and underground. Buildings must be heated and maintained, healthcare matters, and colonists belong to guilds with unique attributes.

The main tension comes from balance: the cat overlords demand tribute, while your own mice will leave if their daily needs are not met. It is a single-player game with Steam Workshop support and adjustable difficulty.

Islands vary in size and layout, so each colony has to adapt to the space available. Hooded Horse is known for publishing strategy and management games such as Manor Lords and Against the Storm, and Whiskerwood follows that focus on deep simulation. The interface supports many languages, including French, German, Spanish, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese, and accessibility options include adjustable text size and a mouse-only control option. Because it is in Early Access, the developers are still adding content and features.

It suits fans of colony sims and production-chain builders who enjoy a charming theme with real management depth.
