We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip is a standalone co-op puzzle game from Dutch studio Total Mayhem Games, the team behind the We Were Here series. It launched on September 14, 2023 as the first entry in the shorter "Expeditions" line, built as an entry point for new players and a score challenge for series veterans.
You and a friend answer a distress call and wash up on a deserted island, where an abandoned amusement park hides a strange boat ride. Each player sees a different side of every puzzle, so you must describe what you see over in-game walkie-talkies and act on each other's instructions. The game grades how well you solve each challenge, so the state of your friendship literally decides the fate of the friend-ship.
The game is online co-op only, needs a microphone on both ends, and supports cross-play between PC and consoles. A We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip CD key is a low-cost way to test a duo's teamwork before moving on to the longer games in the series. Steam lists a Metascore of 82.
Two-Player Asymmetrical Puzzles: Each player sees different clues, so every puzzle needs both people to share information before it can be solved.
Walkie-Talkie Communication: In-game walkie-talkies carry your voice, and a working microphone is required for both players.
Friendship Grading: The game scores how well you solve each challenge, giving returning duos a reason to replay for a perfect grade.
Abandoned Amusement Park: A distress call leads you to a deserted island and a mysterious boat ride that sets the stage for each puzzle.
Bite-Sized Standalone Story: A shorter, self-contained We Were Here experience that needs no knowledge of earlier games.
Cross-Platform Co-op: Cross-play lets PC players team up with friends on other platforms.
Wide Language Support: Interface and subtitles cover more than 20 languages, with full English audio.
