In Vampyr, you are Dr. Jonathan Reid, a brilliant blood-transfusion specialist who wakes up in a mass grave, transformed into a creature of the night. Thrown into a grim version of London, you are caught between a secret war of vampire factions, monster hunters, and a horrific mutation of the Spanish Flu.
By purchasing a Vampyr digital key, you enter a unique gameplay loop where narrative choices directly impact character progression. To level up your supernatural abilities, you must harvest experience points ($XP$) by feeding on the local citizens. Every NPC has a name, a family, a back story, and a vital role in their neighborhood's ecosystem. Killing a beloved community member might grant you massive power, but it will also drive that district closer to total chaos, filling the streets with deadly monsters. It is a hauntingly beautiful RPG where the ultimate enemy isn't the monsters in the dark, but your own hunger.
Be the Ultimate Predator: Master visceral third-person combat using a combination of traditional melee weapons, firearms, and devastating vampire abilities like blood spears and shadow dashes.
The Doctor's Dilemma: Investigate citizens, gather clues, and heal their sicknesses to improve the quality of their blood. A healthier citizen yields significantly more $XP$ if you choose to sacrifice them.
District Health System: Monitor the stability of four distinct London districts. Your actions can keep them stable or plummet them into hostile, monster-infested ruins.
Dynamic Supernatural Skill Tree: Spend your blood-earned $XP$ on diverse ability paths, choosing between offensive shadow magic, defensive blood shields, or aggressive physical mutations.
Atmospheric Gothic World: Explore beautifully crafted, eerie historical locations—from the squalor of the East End docks to the grand halls of the Pembroke Hospital.
Steam Deck Playable: Runs smoothly at medium-to-high settings on portable PC devices, allowing you to stalk your prey on the go.
