ULTRAKILL is a retro-styled FPS that blends 1990s shooter design with modern mechanics and a style-based scoring system. The game places players in control of V1, a robot powered by blood, who must enter Hell to harvest blood and fight waves of demons and machines across layered realms.
Combat emphasizes mobility (dashes, wall-jumps, rocket jumps), precise aim, and aggressive healing, absorbing enemy blood to restore health, so staying on the offensive is both necessary and rewarding. Each level acts like an arena with tight encounters, varied enemy types, and environmental hazards that encourage practice and mastery; replaying stages to improve your rank is a core loop.
ULTRAKILL also layers light lore and hidden entries that expand the world, while regular updates from the developer add new levels and features during early access. The title is aimed at players who enjoy fast, skill-based shooters, leaderboard chasing, and retro aesthetics with modern polish.
