Developed by Creative Assembly Sofia and published by SEGA, Total War: PHARAOH combines deep turn-based empire management with spectacular real-time tactical battles. Set during the New Kingdom of Egypt, the game tasks you with uniting a fractured society amidst natural disasters, social disarray, and the relentless waves of the Sea Peoples. The 2024 High Tide update and the massive Dynasties expansion (released mid-2024/early 2026 updates) have vastly expanded the scope of the game, nearly doubling the map size to include Mesopotamia, the Aegean, and Anatolia. Players must now contend with a new "Lethality" mechanic and a "Dynasty" system involving mortality and succession to ensure their legacy outlasts the collapse.
Dynamic Battle Weather: Experience real-time shifts in weather, including sandstorms and torrential rain, which physically impact terrain and unit performance.
The Dynasty System: Manage a family tree where your leaders face mortality, strategic marriages, and succession crises to maintain power across generations.
Massive Map Expansion: Explore a world spanning from the Nile to the Aegean and Mesopotamia, featuring over 168 new settlements and 25+ minor factions.
Ancient Deities: Engage with the Pillars of Civilization system, seeking favor from Egyptian, Hittite, and Canaanite pantheons to earn divine blessings.
New Battle Mechanics: Utilize "Unit Stances" (Advance, Hold, Fall Back) and the "Lethality" modifier, making charges and missile volleys more decisive and deadly.
Campaign Customization: Tailor your experience with random starting positions, detailed resource settings, and the ability to toggle natural disasters.
