Total War: ATTILA is a historical strategy game developed by Creative Assembly and published by SEGA, released on February 17, 2015. It runs on Windows PC, with macOS and Linux versions ported by Feral Interactive, and it activates on Steam.

Like other Total War games, it splits play into two layers. On the turn-based campaign map you manage provinces, trade, religion, diplomacy and armies, then you fight battles in real time with thousands of soldiers on the field.

The setting is the late 4th and 5th centuries, a dark period of famine, plague and a cooling climate. Fertile land slowly turns barren, and nomadic hordes can raze cities entirely, so survival often matters more than expansion. Family trees and characters with traits shape politics inside your faction, and ambitious generals or heirs can turn into rivals if you ignore them. Managing food, sanitation and public order matters as much as winning battles.

You can play the Grand Campaign as Rome, migrating tribes or eastern empires, then take the fight online with head-to-head battles or two-player co-op campaigns. Custom battles and Steam Workshop mods add even more replay value.

It suits strategy fans who enjoy tough, survival-focused campaigns and players who liked ROME II but want a harsher, more dramatic era of history.
