The Sims Legacy Collection is a life simulation game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. It is an updated re-release of the original The Sims (2000), released on January 31, 2025 for Windows 10 and 11 PCs as part of the series' 25th anniversary.

You create Sims, build or furnish their homes, and guide their daily lives. Sims pursue careers, make friends, fall in love, and manage needs such as hunger, energy, and fun. You can help them succeed or let chaos unfold.

Play is open-ended. There is no fixed goal, so you set your own stories, from a successful career family to a crowded house full of rivals. Build and Buy modes let you design homes room by room, choose furniture and decor, and expand a house as your Sims earn more money.

The collection includes the base game and all seven original expansion packs: Livin' Large, House Party, Hot Date, Vacation, Unleashed, Superstar, and Makin' Magic. These add new careers, pets, vacation spots, celebrity life, and magic.

The Sims Legacy Collection suits long-time fans who want the classic game working on modern Windows and newcomers curious about where the series began. It is a single-player game, and it is a simple way to revisit the classic look, sounds, and humor that started the franchise.
