In a world ravaged by a cataclysmic magical "Mist," small groups of survivors gather to protect the mages attempting to cast one final spell that will banish all magic from the world. You play as The Commander, managing a small squad of randomly generated heroes. The game follows a rigid Day/Night cycle:
Day Phase: Spend gold and materials to rebuild your city, repair defenses, buy gear, and level up heroes.
Night Phase: Defend your town’s magic circle from hundreds of attacking monsters in grid-based, tactical combat. As of May 2026, the game has expanded significantly with the Tales of Torment DLC and numerous free updates, including new maps like Elderlitch and Glenwald.
Tactical Asymmetry: Control a squad of only 3 to 6 heroes against a massive swarm of hundreds of enemies.
Classless Progression: Heroes are defined by their equipment. Switching a sword for a staff completely changes a character’s skills and role.
Roguelite Metagame: Even in defeat, you earn "Orbs" to unlock permanent upgrades, new items, and starting bonuses for future runs.
City Management: Strategically place defensive walls, ballistae, and traps while balancing economy buildings like Gold Mines and Mana Wells.
Procedural Difficulty: Every run features different hero traits, gear drops, and enemy waves, ensuring high replayability.
Stunning Pixel Art & Soundtrack: Features a grim, detailed pixel art style paired with a heavy metal/synthwave OST.
