The Karate Kid: Street Rumble is a side-scrolling beat 'em up developed by Odaclick Game Studio and published by GameMill Entertainment. It released on September 20, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
The game follows the story of the original three The Karate Kid films from the 1980s. You fight through waves of enemies across the West Valley and Okinawa, chaining punches, kicks and combos before facing bosses such as Johnny Lawrence, John Kreese and Terry Silver.
Four heroes are playable: Daniel LaRusso, Mr. Miyagi, Ali Mills and Kumiko. Combat is built around responsive karate moves, including the famous Crane Kick, along with blocking and combo strings that reward timing over button mashing. Enemies arrive in mixed groups, so positioning and crowd control matter as much as raw damage, especially in the tougher later stages and boss encounters.
Friends can join on the same screen in local co-op, and on PC Steam Remote Play Together lets a friend join online. The presentation uses detailed 16-bit-style pixel art and retro flair that leans heavily on scenes from the movies.
It is a good fit for fans of the films and of classic arcade brawlers who want a nostalgic co-op game to clear in a few sittings. Its short stages also make it easy to replay with different characters or to share with younger players.
