The Inquisitor is a story-driven dark fantasy adventure game developed by The Dust S.A. and published by Kalypso Media. The game is based on the bestselling Inquisitor novels written by Jacek Piekara.

Set in an alternate history where Jesus descended from the cross and unleashed vengeance upon nonbelievers, the world of The Inquisitor is ruled by fear, violence, and religious oppression. Players control Mordimer Madderdin, a ruthless inquisitor tasked with investigating heresy, solving murders, uncovering conspiracies, and judging sinners.

The gameplay combines detective mechanics, dialogue choices, exploration, stealth, sword combat, and supernatural investigations. Players can choose between mercy and cruelty during interrogations, affecting how the story unfolds and how characters react throughout the adventure.

The Inquisitor delivers a dark atmospheric world inspired by medieval Europe, featuring gothic environments, moral choices, cinematic storytelling, and supernatural horror elements. Community discussions often praise the game’s unique setting and lore despite some mixed opinions regarding combat and gameplay systems.
