The Chant is a single-player, third-person horror action-adventure developed by Canadian studio Brass Token and published by Prime Matter. It launched on November 3, 2022 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. You play as Jess, who joins a weekend retreat on a remote island. A group chant goes wrong and opens The Gloom, a psychedelic dimension that feeds on negative energy and releases prismatic creatures and cultists.
The core loop mixes exploration, resource crafting, and close combat. You gather materials to build spiritual weapons, manage three meters for Mind, Body, and Spirit, and decide when to fight and when to run. Panic is a real mechanic: let your Mind meter drop and Jess loses control. Between fights, you uncover the history of a 1970s cult that once ran the island and talk with other retreat members as they unravel.
The visual style leans on 1970s psychedelic horror, with saturated colored lighting and an electronic rock score by Paul Ruskay. It suits players who like story-driven survival horror with a compact length. A The Chant CD key from a trusted seller is often far cheaper than the full store price. Visit the official The Chant website for trailers and news.
