Taur is a sci-fi action strategy game developed and published by Echo Entertainment, a one-person indie studio from Sweden. It was released on February 19, 2020 for PC (Windows) through Steam.

The game blends tower defense, shooting, and real-time strategy. You directly control the Prime Cannon, a heavy turret with primary and secondary weapons that fire at the same time, while your defenses hold the line around you. Switching between aiming the cannon and managing defenses keeps every battle busy.

Between battles you spend resources from secured war zones to build auto-turrets, droids, aircraft, and other defenses. New weapons and abilities unlock as you progress and can be upgraded. Every unit, structure, tree, and plant is destructible, so the battlefield changes as each fight goes on.

The campaign is set on the planet Taurea, home of the Tauron droids. You must stop the Imperion, a warmongering galactic droid empire, from taking control. Enemies arrive as full invasions, air raids, tank sieges, and infantry drops, so each attack needs a different plan. Control of the planet shifts over time based on how well you perform, and losing too much ground can end the campaign.

Taur is a single-player game built around a campaign mode, with a full English voice track. It suits fans of tower defense who want more hands-on action, and players who enjoy large-scale sci-fi battles. Its modest system requirements also make it easy to run on older or budget PCs.
