Developed by Creative Assembly (the masters behind the Total War series), Stormrise is a bold departure from traditional RTS mechanics. Set in a future Earth devastated by a catastrophic event known as "The Event," the game depicts a brutal struggle between two factions: the technologically advanced Echelon and the tribal, mutated Sai.
The game's standout feature is its third-person perspective, which places the camera directly behind your units. This "front-line" view emphasizes verticality, allowing you to utilize rooftops, underground tunnels, and multi-story buildings for tactical advantage. While it was originally designed with consoles in mind, the PC version offers the most stable way to experience this experimental chapter of strategy history. Whether you’re looking for a Steam key or a legacy Games for Windows Live code, our comparison tool helps you secure the best price for this unique tactical title.
Vertical Strategy: Unlike flat RTS maps, Stormrise features multi-level battlefields where controlling the high ground (skyscrapers) or low ground (sewers) is essential for victory.
Whip Select: A revolutionary (and controversial) radial control system designed for rapid-fire unit switching and commanding without the need for traditional hotkeys.
Two Distinct Factions: Command the Echelon’s high-tech mechs and drones, or unleash the Sai’s organic, mutated war-beasts and psychic powers.
Lead from the Front: The unit-centric camera creates a visceral sense of scale, making every explosion and firefight feel more personal.
Multiplayer "Join Anytime": Innovative online features for its time that allow players to jump into ongoing battles, mirroring the accessibility of first-person shooters.
