Stellaris blends traditional 4X gameplay with deep grand strategy elements. You begin with a single planet and a dream of the stars, eventually managing massive fleets, complex galactic politics, and planet-cracking megastructures.
As of May 2026, the game has entered its most ambitious phase yet with the launch of Season 10. This new era introduces the Nomads expansion (Q2 2026), allowing you to abandon planetary living entirely in favor of massive, customizable Arkships. Whether you are playing on PC or the recently upgraded Console Edition (Season 08), the game offers thousands of hours of gameplay through its branching narratives, "Crisis" end-game events, and a highly active modding community.
Infinite Discovery: Every game features a new galaxy filled with unique anomalies, ancient ruins, and mysterious space fauna like the Voidworms.
Deep Customization: Design your species from scratch, selecting their ethics, civics, and evolutionary path—from psionic ascension to full cybernetic integration.
Galactic Politics: Form federations, manipulate the Galactic Senate, or become a "Galactic Custodian" to protect the galaxy from extra-dimensional threats.
The Grand Archive (2025/2026): Build the Grand Archive megastructure to collect xeno-geological artifacts and clone captured space fauna to build "biological fleets."
Nomadic Playstyles (New 2026): Lead a civilization that never settles down, roaming the stars on Arkships and taking on mercenary contracts for other empires.
