Spore is a life simulation and strategy game developed by Maxis and published by Electronic Arts. Designed by Will Wright, the creator of SimCity and The Sims, it was released for PC in September 2008.
The game lets you guide a species from a single-celled organism all the way to a space-faring civilization. Play moves through five evolutionary stages: Cell, Creature, Tribe, Civilization, and Space. Each stage has its own style of play, goals, and challenges, from eating and surviving in a tide pool to managing cities and exploring a galaxy.
You can start at the very beginning and nurture one species through every stage, or jump straight into a later stage to build tribes or civilizations on new planets. The choices you make in earlier stages shape the traits and abilities available to your species later on.
Spore is best known for its powerful but easy-to-use creation tools. You design almost everything yourself, including creatures, buildings, vehicles, and starships. These editors are the heart of the game and give it strong replay value for players who enjoy creativity and experimentation.
Spore is a single-player game. On CDKeyCompares, you can compare Spore key prices from multiple digital stores. Check whether a listing activates on Steam or the EA app, then follow our guide on how to activate your CD key.
