SOULCALIBUR VI is a 3D weapons-based fighting game developed by Bandai Namco Studios with Dimps and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. It launched on October 18, 2018, for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and holds a Metacritic score of 80 on PC. The story returns to the 16th century and revisits the events of the first Soulcalibur, with fighters chasing the cursed sword Soul Edge.
The combat system adds Reversal Edge, a move that absorbs an incoming attack and leads into a counter exchange, alongside Soul Charge, a temporary power-up that unlocks extra attacks. Lethal Hits reward specific situational strikes with heavy combo damage. Single-player content includes the Soul Chronicle story mode, Libra of Soul for custom characters, Arcade and Training, while Creation mode lets you build your own fighter.
Online, you can play ranked and casual matches against players around the world. Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt appears as a guest fighter, and additional characters such as Cassandra and Setsuka arrived as paid DLC and through the Season Pass. If you also play Bandai Namco's other big fighter, Tekken 8 makes a good companion pick. Comparing offers on a SOULCALIBUR VI CD key helps you buy the base game cheaply and leaves budget for DLC. More information is on the official SOULCALIBUR VI page.
