SOMA is a first-person sci-fi horror game developed and published by Frictional Games, the Swedish studio known for Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It launched on PC on September 21, 2015, and holds a Metacritic score of 84. The game takes place in PATHOS-II, an underwater research facility at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, where the radio is dead, supplies are running out and the machines have started to believe they are people.
There is no combat. You read terminals and documents, piece together what happened to the station, and track down its last inhabitants. Corrupted humans, twisted creatures and robots roam the corridors, so survival depends on stealth, timing and knowing when to run. The real weight of SOMA comes from its questions about consciousness and what it means to be human, and the choices you make along the way stay with you after the credits.
A SOMA CD key unlocks the full game on Steam, with support for Windows, macOS and Linux. It suits players who prefer narrative horror and atmosphere over action. Fans can find more background on the official SOMA website.
