Solium Infernum is a turn-based grand strategy game of politics, intrigue and betrayal, developed and published by League of Geeks, the Australian studio behind the digital board game Armello. It released on PC in February 2024 and holds a Metacritic score of 85. The game is a modern re-imagining of Vic Davis' cult classic of the same name, with inspiration drawn from Milton's Paradise Lost.
Satan has vanished and Hell is in chaos. You take the role of one of eight Archfiends competing to become Hell's new ruler. Winning is less about raw conquest and more about reading your rivals: you command legions and Titans, recruit Praetor champions, gather artifacts and cast rituals, but you also make demands, hurl insults and maneuver inside Hell's parliament. Every order has lasting consequences, and second-guessing opponents matters as much as map control. The content covers eight single-player Chronicles, a Skirmish mode, a tutorial scenario and 2-6 player multiplayer, either in one session or asynchronously over days.
It suits players who enjoy diplomacy-heavy strategy and slow-burn mind games. A Solium Infernum CD key bought through price comparison is the cheapest way in. More detail is on the official Solium Infernum website.
