Skate Story is a single-player skateboarding action adventure created by New York-based indie developer Sam Eng and published by Devolver Digital. It was released on December 8, 2025 for PC, macOS, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.

You play a demon made of glass and pain who receives a skateboard from the Devil. The deal is simple but strange: skate to the Moon and swallow it to win your freedom. The journey takes you down through the layers of the Underworld and across the ash-covered Emptylands.

Skating is the heart of the game. You ollie, kickflip, and grind through dreamlike levels, and fast, clean lines help you smash demons that block your path. Along the way you meet tortured souls you can help, and light puzzle-solving supports the focus on exploration.

Skate trials let you level up, learn new tricks, and unlock gear. You can customize your board with new decks, wheels, and trucks, which also changes how it feels to ride as you grow from a fragile beginner into a hardened skater.

Skate Story suits players who enjoy skateboarding games, striking art direction, and short, atmospheric indie adventures. Its glassy visual style and moody soundtrack give it a look unlike other skateboarding games, and playing with a gamepad is recommended on PC for the best feel.
