Silent Hill 2 is a full remake of Konami's 2001 psychological horror game, developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami. It launched in October 2024 on PC and PlayStation 5. The story stays faithful to the original: James Sunderland receives a letter from his wife Mary, who died years earlier, asking him to meet her in Silent Hill, the town where they shared so many memories. He finds a ghost town wrapped in fog, prowled by disturbing creatures, and a woman named Maria who looks and sounds just like Mary.
The remake changes how you play. The fixed camera angles of the original give way to an over-the-shoulder view that keeps you close to James. Combat has been reworked with timed dodges and aimed shots, while familiar weapons such as the steel pipe and handgun return. Environments are larger, with buildings that were once locked or that are new to this version, and puzzles still gate your progress. Ray tracing and new soundscapes rebuild the town's oppressive mood for modern hardware.
It suits longtime fans who want to revisit a landmark of the genre and newcomers who prefer story-led horror over action. For more Konami horror, compare deals on Silent Hill f. Grabbing a Silent Hill 2 CD key through a price comparison is the cheapest way to return to the fog.
