Sea of Stars is a critically acclaimed indie RPG developed and published by Sabotage Studio, the visionary team behind The Messenger. Winner of "Best Independent Game" at The Game Awards, this title serves as a poignant love letter to golden-era turn-based classics like Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG, while shedding the archaic mechanics that used to drag retro games down.
The narrative follows Valere and Zale, two young Solstice Warriors who must combine their respective powers of the Sun and Moon to wield Eclipse Magic. This cosmic power is the world's only defense against the horrifying, monstrous flesh-monsters created by an evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer. Boasting a breathtaking soundtrack that includes guest tracks from legendary composer Yasunori Mitsuda (Chrono Trigger), it offers an unforgettable epic filled with charm. By purchasing a Sea of Stars CD key through Cdkeycompares, you can secure your digital copy at a massive discount compared to standard digital storefront prices.
Engaging Turn-Based Combat: Say goodbye to brainless menu-mashing. Time your button presses with the animations to increase damage or reduce incoming hits, unleash multi-character combo attacks, and utilize the strategic "locks" system to break enemy spellcasting.
Unshackled Traversal: Break free from the rigid, grid-bound tilesets of old. Swim, climb, vault, and scale ledges seamlessly as you navigate a world designed with a platformer-like sense of verticality.
Dynamic 2D Lighting: Marvel at a gorgeous, custom-built rendering pipeline that allows day, night, and shadows to shift realistically, bringing the pixel-art environments to life with breathtaking color.
No Random Encounters or Grinding: All enemies are fully visible on the map, letting you approach or avoid battles intentionally. Combat transitions seamlessly right where you stand without separate loading screens, and progression is smoothly balanced so grinding is never required.
A Rich, Cozy World: When you need a break from saving the world, engage in immersive side activities like sailing across the archipelago, cooking stat-boosting meals, fishing, or playing the deeply tactical tavern tabletop game, Wheels.
