Originally released into Early Access on March 19, 2019, on the Epic Games Store, Satisfactory became available on Steam on June 8, 2020, with cross-play support between both platforms. The full 1.0 version officially released on September 10, 2024, bringing massive performance improvements, new world updates, and an optimized multiplayer experience.
The core loop of Satisfactory revolves around automating everything. Starting with basic ore mining, players gradually build more complex production chains — conveyor belts, factories, power grids, and trains — all working in unison to fuel their industrial empire. The game's world is an open sandbox where players in first-person mode explore harsh alien landscapes, dense jungles, and towering mountains inhabited by various animal species.
Version 1.0 introduced a full story campaign to the game, adding narrative-driven motivation to the previously open-ended factory-building experience. With over 5.5 million copies sold and hundreds of hours of gameplay potential, Satisfactory is widely regarded as one of the best factory-building games ever made. Whether you prefer solo play or cooperative sessions with friends, Satisfactory offers a uniquely satisfying and endlessly deep experience.
