Roots of Pacha is a farming and life simulation RPG developed and published by Soda Den. It launched on PC on April 25, 2023, followed by PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch in November 2023 and Xbox in July 2024.

The game sets the familiar farming sim formula in the Stone Age. You forage, plant and water crops, fish, and gather resources, then process food and craft tools. Days pass through the seasons, and there is no strict deadline, so you can play at a calm pace.

Progress comes from ideas. As your clan discovers new ideas, you unlock things like pottery, metalworking, new buildings, and ways to preserve food. You can also domesticate and breed animals, either for goods or as pets, and explore caves and varied biomes.

Village life is a big part of the game. You build friendships with clan members, attend festivals and rituals, and can find a partner and start a family. Roots of Pacha supports online co-op, so friends can share a farm, ride animals together, and help the clan grow.

Roots of Pacha suits fans of Stardew Valley-style games who want a fresh prehistoric setting, cozy pacing, and the option to play with friends. Its low system requirements also make it a good fit for older PCs and laptops.
