Resident Evil Village is the eighth mainline entry in Capcom's iconic survival horror series. The game follows Ethan Winters, who lives peacefully with his wife Mia and newborn daughter Rose in Eastern Europe after the events of Resident Evil 7. When Rose is kidnapped, and Mia disappears, Ethan must explore a terrifying village filled with dangerous creatures to find his daughter.

The game keeps the first-person perspective introduced in Resident Evil 7, making every battle and chase feel more immersive. Unlike its predecessor, Village is more action-focused and closely resembles the classic Resident Evil 4 in its gameplay. You'll fight various enemies, including Lycans (werewolf-like creatures), vampires, crow-like creatures, and zombies.

Key gameplay features include inventory management similar to Resident Evil 4, where you place items in a briefcase with limited space. The game introduces a merchant called "The Duke" who sells ammo, weapons, and upgrades in exchange for Lei currency found on enemies or gained by selling treasures. A new Hunting system lets you search for animals to cook dishes at Duke's Kitchen for permanent health upgrades.

The village itself acts as a central hub that changes over time, connecting different biomes each themed around a major antagonist like Lady Dimitrescu's castle, a reservoir mutant, and a metal-wielding rebel. After your first playthrough, you unlock Challenge Points to buy new weapons, artwork, or the Mercenaries mode for replayability.

Resident Evil Village is perfect for survival horror fans who want action-packed gameplay, memorable characters, and a story that honors the franchise's 25-year history while taking fresh risks.
