Pneumata is a psychological survival horror game developed by Deadbolt Interactive and published by Perp Games. It released on Steam on September 19, 2024. You play a detective sent to Clover Hill, an apartment building where tenants are disappearing, screams echo through the halls and blood seeps through the walls. Your own memories are fragmented, and the line between reality and other worlds starts to blur as you go deeper.
The gameplay mixes investigation with classic survival horror. You examine crime scenes and piece together clues to solve a series of murders, while scavenging for weapons and supplies that are kept deliberately scarce. Fighting is not always the best choice: the entities that stalk the building behave unpredictably, so you will often hide, run or use the environment to create distractions. Exploring the complex reveals hidden areas and alternate paths.
Pneumata is aimed at players who want slow-burn tension and cosmic horror themes, in the vein of Layers of Fear. Steam lists it as single-player with English voice and text only. A Pneumata CD key activates the game on Steam; see the Pneumata Steam page for patch notes and reviews before you buy.
