Deadfire is a direct sequel to the original Pillars of Eternity, blending classic "Infinity Engine" style gameplay with modern innovations. The game introduces a massive seafaring mechanic, allowing you to customize your own ship, recruit a diverse crew, and engage in tactical naval combat. Explore a vast open-world archipelago filled with four major factions—the profit-driven Vailian Trading Company, the militaristic Royal Deadfire Company, the native Huana, and the lawless Príncipi sen Patrena pirates. Whether you prefer the traditional Real-Time with Pause (RTwP) combat or the newer Turn-Based mode, Deadfire offers deep character customization with multiclassing and sub-classes to suit any playstyle.
Deep Narrative Sequel: Your decisions from the first game can be imported to influence the world, companions, and story of the Deadfire.
Seafaring & Exploration: Command your ship across the seas, discover uncharted islands, manage crew morale, and upgrade your vessel to survive pirate attacks.
Multiclassing & Sub-classes: Combine two different classes to create unique archetypes, further refined by specialized sub-classes with unique bonuses and penalties.
Dynamic Faction System: Align yourself with different powers vying for control of the archipelago, or remain independent to chart your own course.
Two Combat Modes: Choose between the classic Real-Time with Pause or a fully-integrated Turn-Based combat system for more tactical precision.
