Palworld is a third-person open-world survival game developed by Pocket Pair, a Japanese game developer. The game is set on the Palpagos Islands, an expansive world populated by 200+ animal-like creatures called Pals.

In Palworld, you control a customizable avatar and explore the islands while managing your hunger, crafting tools, gathering materials, and building bases. Your bases act as fast travel points and automation hubs where Pals work for you.

The core gameplay combines three main elements:

Creature Catching: Fight and weaken Pals in combat, then capture them using Pal Spheres. You can also buy Pals from the black market or trade with other players.

Base Building & Automation: Assign Pals to your base where they automatically complete tasks like scavenging, crafting, cooking, generating electricity, melting materials, and farming based on their work styles.

Combat & Exploration: Use weapons from bows and spears to assault rifles and rocket launchers. Fight boss trainers in towers across the islands, battle hostile human factions, and explore dungeons.

Each Pal has a unique Partner Skill that lets you use them as weapons or mounts for traversal. The game features 187+ different Pal types with diverse attributes and skill sets.

Palworld supports solo play and online multiplayer with up to 32 players on one server. Cross-platform play is available between PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

The game launched in Early Access in January 2024 on PC via Steam and on Xbox, selling millions of copies and breaking records. It's also available through Xbox Game Pass.
