Netherworld Covenant is a dark fantasy 3D isometric action roguelike developed by MadGoat Game Studio and published by Infini Fun with CriticalLeap. After a period in early access, the full 1.0 version released on Steam on December 9, 2025, for Windows and macOS.

You play the survivor of a catastrophe who carries the Nether Lantern, a forbidden artifact that links the mortal realm and the netherworld. Each run sends you into procedurally generated labyrinths filled with corrupted heroes, demonic lords and other bosses twisted by soul energy.

Combat rewards timing over button mashing. You parry, dodge and use an Ethereal Dash to slip past attacks before countering. Four spectral allies, the Swordsman, Ranger, Guardian and Rogue, act as Soul Companions that let you phase through obstacles, ambush enemies or shift dimensions to avoid fatal blows.

Between runs, a camp on the border between worlds lets you gather allies, forge weapons and stockpile resources. Aura and Relic systems, accessories and secondary weapons create varied roguelike builds.

The 1.0 release added five new classes, including Berserker, Mage and Hunter, four new weapon types, Boss Rush and Chaos modes, two extra difficulty modes, and the final story chapters with the ending. It is a single-player game with adjustable difficulty.

It suits fans of soulslike combat who also enjoy roguelike build variety, and players who want challenging, skill-based runs in a dark fantasy setting.
