Necromunda: Underhive Wars is a turn-based tactical RPG developed by Rogue Factor and published by Focus Entertainment. It was released on September 7, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and it is the first video game adaptation of Games Workshop's Necromunda tabletop game.

The setting is the Underhive, the polluted, maze-like depths beneath the hive cities of Necromunda in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Rival gangs fight there for power, wealth, survival, and the honor of their Houses.

You lead gangs from House Escher, House Goliath, and House Orlock, with Van Saar and Cawdor available as DLC. Each fighter can be customized and specialized. Battles are highly vertical, so climbing walkways for height, setting traps, and ambushing enemies into close-range melee are key tactics.

A narrative campaign introduces the world, while persistent operations let your gang earn skills, loot new gear, and grow over time. You can then take that gang into online battles for up to four players.

It suits fans of Warhammer 40,000, players who enjoy turn-based tactics like XCOM, and anyone who likes building and upgrading a squad over many matches.

Which version should you buy?

• PC (Steam): PC keys activate on Steam and need a 64-bit Windows 10 system with about 40 GB of storage.

• PS4 and Xbox One: Console codes are redeemed on PlayStation Network or a Microsoft account. Online gang fights may need PS Plus or Xbox network access.

• Gang DLC: Van Saar and Cawdor gangs are separate DLC and need the base game. For a first-person shooter set in the same world, see Necromunda: Hired Gun.
