Mount and Blade: Warband is the critically acclaimed, genre-defining standalone expansion to the original medieval action role-playing game developed by TaleWorlds Entertainment. Widely loved for its absolute player freedom, the game drops you directly into Calradia—a vast, war-torn fictional continent inspired by real-world feudal societies. You start as a complete nobody with nothing but a rusty sword and an old horse, and your destiny is entirely up to you.
Will you swear fealty to a regional king as a loyal vassal, operate as a cold-blooded mercenary captain, raid defenseless villages as a rogue bandit, or raise your own banner to conquer the throne yourself? Warband balances its sandbox overhead overworld map—where you manage finances, train troops, and handle court politics—with thrilling, massive real-time battles. On the ground, you command your armies dynamically while engaging in precise, direction-based physical melee and mounted combat.
