Developed by Shiny Shoe and published by Good Shepherd Entertainment, Monster Train reimagines the deck-building genre by adding a tower-defense-like layer of verticality. Hell has frozen over, and you are the last line of defense for the final burning Pyre. As your train, the Boneshaker, travels through frozen landscapes, you must position powerful units across three distinct floors. Enemies climb from the bottom floor to the top; if they reach the Pyre at the summit, your run is in jeopardy. With a deep clan system that allows you to mix and match primary and secondary factions, the game emphasizes synergy, tactical card upgrades, and high-stakes decision-making.
Vertical Combat: Defend three vertical playfields simultaneously, forcing you to prioritize where to deploy your forces and spells.
Diverse Clans: Choose from five distinct monster clans (and the Wurmkin in the DLC), each with their own unique champions, mechanics, and playstyles.
Dual-Clan Deckbuilding: Select a primary and a secondary clan to gain access to cards from both, creating near-limitless combo possibilities.
Extensive Upgrades: Visit specialized map nodes to upgrade your champion, fuse units, or apply two powerful enhancements to any card in your deck.
Hell Rush Multiplayer: Compete in frantic 8-player real-time matches where everyone plays with the same resources—only the fastest strategists survive.
Endless Replayability: Navigate 25 "Covenant" difficulty levels, tackle daily challenges with unique mutators, and explore over 21 random events.
