Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience is the complete package of Konami's fifth numbered Metal Gear Solid chapter. It combines Ground Zeroes, the 2014 prologue set at a Cuban black site, with The Phantom Pain, the full open-world campaign that scored 91 on Metacritic on PC. The bundle also adds every released add-on, including Phantom Pain outfits and horse tack plus the Metal Gear Online expansion "Cloaked in Silence" and its appeal packs.
The story takes place in 1984. Snake, also known as Big Boss, wakes from a nine-year coma after the fall of Mother Base and builds a new private army to hunt the shadow group XOF. Missions play out across Afghanistan and the Angola-Zaire border region, and you choose how to approach each one: crawl through grass, call in a supply drop, extract soldiers with the Fulton balloon or go loud with an air strike. Recruited staff and resources flow back to Mother Base, which you expand to unlock new weapons, gadgets and support options.
The Fox Engine still holds up on modern PCs, and the open structure rewards experimentation. A Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience CD key is the cheapest way to get both chapters and the add-ons in one purchase. See the official Steam bundle page for the full content list.
Two Chapters in One Bundle: Play the Ground Zeroes prologue and the full Phantom Pain campaign, the two parts of Metal Gear Solid V, from a single purchase.
Open-World Tactical Espionage: Approach missions in Afghanistan and Central Africa through stealth, distraction, sniping or full assault, with day-night cycles that change guard behavior.
Mother Base Management: Extract soldiers and resources with the Fulton system, assign staff to teams and develop new weapons, gadgets and support abilities.
Buddy System: Bring a companion such as the horse D-Horse or the dog D-Dog into the field for transport, scouting and combat support.
Fox Engine Visuals: Konami's in-house engine delivers detailed environments and smooth performance on mid-range PC hardware.
