Mega Man 11 is a 2D action platformer developed and published by Capcom. It was released on October 2, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and is the first new mainline Mega Man game since Mega Man 10.

Each stage is a side-scrolling run filled with enemies, traps, and platforming challenges, ending in a fight with a Robot Master. Beat a boss and you gain its weapon, which can be used against other bosses that are weak to it. Choosing the stage order is part of the strategy. Bolts collected in stages can be spent in a shop on extra lives, energy tanks, and helpful parts.

The new Double Gear system lets Mega Man boost his speed to slow down time or power up his shots for heavier damage. Both gears overheat if overused, so timing matters. The game also uses hand-drawn backgrounds with 3D character models.

Mega Man 11 is single-player. Several difficulty levels make it approachable for newcomers, while extra modes include time trials, missions, online leaderboards, and a gallery of concept art. The story follows Dr. Wily as he uses a Double Gear prototype of his own to upgrade the Robot Masters, setting up the conflict with Mega Man.

It suits fans of the classic NES games, speedrunners, and players who enjoy tough but fair platformers.
