Mafia III: Definitive Edition is the complete version of part three of the Mafia crime saga, developed by Hangar 13 and published by 2K. It released on May 19, 2020 and bundles the main game with all three story DLCs (Faster, Baby!, Stones Unturned and Sign of the Times) plus the Family Kick-Back Pack and the Judge, Jury & Executioner Weapons Pack.
The story takes place in 1968 in New Bordeaux, a fictional city modeled on New Orleans. You play Lincoln Clay, an orphan and Vietnam veteran whose surrogate family, the Black mob, is betrayed and wiped out by the Italian Mafia. From there the game becomes a campaign of revenge: you take over rackets district by district, choose between brute force, gunfights or stealth takedowns, and decide which of your three lieutenants gets each territory. Reward the wrong one and loyalty breaks down.
The period soundtrack, vehicles and street detail sell the late-1960s setting, and the open structure suits players who liked the earlier Mafia II and want a looser, sandbox-style crime story. Owning this edition also unlocks Lincoln's Army Jacket and car in the Mafia and Mafia II Definitive Editions. A Mafia III: Definitive Edition CD key is an affordable way to get the full package on Steam. More details are on the official Mafia site.
