Lost Words: Beyond the Page is a narrative puzzle platformer developed by Sketchbook Games and originally published by Modus Games. After a Stadia debut in 2020, it was released on April 6, 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

The game moves between two linked spaces. In the pages of Izzy's diary, the words themselves are platforms: you walk across sentences, move words around, and turn pages to reach the next entry. In the fantasy world of Estoria, you gather magic words and use them to reshape the landscape.

Puzzles are gentle and focused on the story. The words you collect change objects around you, and optional fireflies are hidden in most levels for players who like to explore.

The fully voiced story, written by Rhianna Pratchett, follows Izzy as she copes with a family loss. Its chapters loosely follow the stages of grief, but the tone stays hopeful. It is a short, single-player game.

Choices you make in Izzy's diary affect how parts of the story unfold, so some moments change between playthroughs. The diary pages mix handwritten text and sketches, while Estoria is painted in soft watercolor tones. Light platforming means there is little risk of failure, which keeps the focus on the writing and the voice acting.

Lost Words suits players who want a heartfelt story, watercolor visuals, and light puzzles over challenge.
