Lost Lands: Sand Captivity is a hidden object puzzle adventure developed and published by FIVE-BN Games. It released on PC via Steam on December 9, 2022, where it is sold as the Collector's Edition, and it continues the long-running Lost Lands series.

Peace has returned to the Lost Lands, and Susan has settled into life as a mother and grandmother, telling her old adventures as bedtime stories. When her son Jim finds an artifact from the Lost Lands on Earth, he accidentally releases an ancient curse, and Susan must return to save her family.

Gameplay follows the series formula. You explore hand-crafted locations, search scenes for hidden objects, collect and combine items, and solve puzzles and mini-games to move the story forward. Familiar characters from earlier games return, and new ones help you find solutions.

The adventure is single-player and paced for relaxed sessions, with plenty of locations to explore and an atmospheric soundtrack. Full voice audio is provided in English, with subtitles and interface text in many other languages.

Lost Lands: Sand Captivity suits fans of hidden object games, light fantasy stories, and casual puzzle adventures that can be played in short sittings. Its modest system requirements mean it runs well on most laptops.

Which version should you buy?

• PC: Most keys activate on Steam. The game needs Windows 8 or 10 and about 1.7 GB of storage.

• Edition: The Steam release is the Collector's Edition. Check that a listing names Sand Captivity, as the Lost Lands series has many entries.

• Series: It is a standalone story, so earlier Lost Lands games are not required.
