What is Kona?

Kona is a first-person narrative adventure developed by Quebec studio Parabole and published by Ravenscourt. It launched on Steam on March 17, 2017, for Windows, macOS and Linux. The story opens in October 1970: industrialist W. Hamilton hires private detective Carl Faubert to look into vandalism at his hunting manor near Atamipek Lake in northern Canada. When Carl arrives, a violent snowstorm has swallowed the area, his client is missing and the village appears empty.

The game blends investigation with survival. You search cabins, collect documents and objects, record findings in your journal and keep Carl warm as the blizzard drains his body heat. An omniscient narrator comments on your actions, and Quebec folk band CuréLabel provides the soundtrack. The 1970s rural setting, drawn from local history and folklore, gives the mystery a distinct identity.

Kona suits players who like slow-burn, exploration-driven mysteries rather than combat-heavy games. A Kona CD key is a budget way into the series before you move on to the sequel.
