Jaunt VR – Experience Cinematic Virtual Reality is a media-viewing application developed by Jaunt Inc., a Palo Alto-based company founded in April 2013 that pioneered the concept of "cinematic VR"—high-quality, 360-degree, stereoscopic 3D video content designed to be watched passively rather than played as an interactive game. The company built proprietary spherical camera hardware (culminating in the professional-grade, 24-lens Jaunt One camera) alongside cloud-based production software to make capturing and distributing this style of content more accessible to filmmakers and brands.

The consumer-facing Jaunt VR app launched its first content in November 2014 with a free Android release for Google Cardboard, headlined by a 360-degree concert film of Paul McCartney performing at Candlestick Park. Backed by roughly $35–36 million in venture funding from investors including Google Ventures, Highland Capital Partners, Redpoint Ventures, and British Sky Broadcasting, the app rapidly expanded its library past 100 experiences and its platform reach to iOS, Samsung Gear VR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive by October 2016, before adding PlayStation VR support in December 2016. The app's catalogue mixed celebrity-fronted content (such as a Derek Zoolander mock photoshoot and a Lilly Singh travel special), live event footage (the 2016 Grammy Awards, NHL Winter Classic, a Jack White concert at Fenway Park), and branded experiences like Disneyland's 60th Anniversary celebration. The platform also supported Dolby Atmos spatial audio and, through its Jaunt Publishing program launched in 2016, allowed independent VR creators to submit and distribute their own content across the app. By late 2017, Jaunt began pivoting away from the direct-to-consumer app toward a white-label "Jaunt XR Platform" for enterprise clients like Sky VR Studio, while continuing to produce award-nominated in-house content through Jaunt Studios. Buyers researching a Jaunt VR CD key should note this was historically a free application; any listing likely refers to archived or discontinued Steam-era distribution, as the app has faced platform support issues (including HTC Vive crashes that led to a temporary store removal) and Jaunt Inc. itself later shifted its business model.
