Immortals Fenyx Rising is an open-world action adventure developed by Ubisoft Quebec and published by Ubisoft. It was released on December 3, 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
You play as Fenyx, a mortal shield-bearer who washes up on the Golden Isle after the Titan Typhon escapes and curses the gods of Olympus. Your goal is to restore Aphrodite, Ares, Athena, and Hephaistos and then defeat Typhon. The story is narrated by Prometheus and Zeus, whose running commentary gives the adventure a light, comic tone.
The island is open from the start. You can climb almost any surface, glide with the Wings of Daidalos, tame mounts, and follow your bird companion Phosphor. Combat mixes fast melee with a sword and axe, a bow you can steer in flight, and godly powers that let you lift, slam, and launch enemies such as Cyclops, Medusa, and the Minotaur.
Puzzles are a big part of the game. The Vaults of Tartaros are self-contained challenge dungeons built around physics, pressure plates, and movement, and the open world is filled with smaller myth challenges. Completing them earns resources to upgrade Fenyx's health, stamina, gear, and abilities.
Immortals Fenyx Rising is single-player. It suits players who enjoy open-world exploration, Zelda-style puzzles, Greek mythology, and a lighter, humorous story.
