Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores is the story expansion for Guerrilla Games' open-world action RPG, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It released on April 19, 2023, exclusively for PlayStation 5. Unlike The Frozen Wilds for Horizon Zero Dawn, Burning Shores moves the main narrative forward. It takes place after the events of the base game, and you must finish the main story before you can start it.
Aloy travels south to the Burning Shores, a volcanic archipelago formed in the ruins of Los Angeles, to track down a remaining Zenith, Londra, voiced by Sam Witwer. Along the way she teams up with Seyka, a Quen marine voiced by Kylie Liya Page. The expansion adds a new region to explore, new machines, new quests and additional skills, plus a thalassophobia mode for players uncomfortable with deep water.
You need Horizon Forbidden West on PS5 to play it, and series newcomers may want to start with Horizon Zero Dawn. A Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores CD key (PSN code) is the cheapest way to add the DLC if you already own the PS5 base game. On PC, Burning Shores is only available as part of the Complete Edition. Details are on the official PlayStation page.
