Developed by Gearbox Software (using critical input from the original Relic team), the Remastered Collection (2015) bundles together Homeworld Remastered Edition, Homeworld 2 Remastered Edition, and the Steam Multiplayer mode. As a bonus, it also includes the "Classic" versions of both games preserved for compatibility with modern operating systems. The narrative is a space opera of survival and discovery; after your home planet is destroyed, your Mothership and its assembled fleet are all that remain of your species. The gameplay is unique for its true 3D movement, allowing you to attack from above, below, or the sides in a massive galactic sphere.
Full Graphical Overhaul: Freshly rendered 3D models, updated textures, and new visual effects supporting 4K resolution.
Persistent Fleet: Your ships survive from mission to mission; a loss in the early game can significantly impact your tactical options in the finale.
Remastered Audio: Features the original haunting soundtrack by Paul Ruskay and high-fidelity voice recordings by the original cast.
Unified Multiplayer: Competitive modes for both games are merged into one centralized experience, supporting up to 8 players on 23 different maps.
Steam Workshop Support: A thriving modding community continues to add new ships, total conversions (like Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica mods), and campaign tweaks.
Strategic Variety: Command over 100 ship types, ranging from swarming light interceptors to massive heavy destroyers and specialized support frigates.
