Developed by IO Interactive and originally released in 2006, Hitman: Blood Money perfected the "social stealth" genre. Unlike traditional shooters, success is measured by your ability to blend into your surroundings, utilize disguises, and eliminate targets without leaving a trace. The game follows 47 through a series of iconic sandbox missions—from a high-society witness protection hideout in the suburbs to a chaotic Mardi Gras celebration in New Orleans. In 2024, the game received a refined port titled Hitman: Blood Money — Reprisal for mobile and Nintendo Switch, which introduced modern quality-of-life features like the "Instinct" mode and a revamped mini-map, though the PC version remains the definitive way to experience the original's gritty atmosphere.
Accident System: Master the art of the "unfortunate mishap" by sabotaging environments to make kills look like accidents, avoiding suspicion and notoriety.
Notoriety & Bribery: Your actions have consequences; if you are seen or caught on camera, your notoriety rises, making guards more likely to spot you in future missions. Use your earnings to bribe witnesses or the police.
Highly Upgradable Arsenal: Spend your contract money to customize your Silverballers, sniper rifles, and tactical gear with silencers, laser sights, and specialized ammo.
Human Shields: For the first time in the series, Agent 47 can use NPCs as human shields to escape tight situations or reach secure areas.
Blood Money Mechanics: Earn more cash for "Silent Assassin" rankings, which rewards players for leaving no witnesses, no bodies found, and using only accidental or stealthy kills.
Iconic Score: Features a haunting and atmospheric soundtrack composed by the legendary Jesper Kyd.
