Developed by Chronocle and published by Hooded Horse, He is Coming (2025) challenges players with a unique "countdown to doom" mechanic. The world is slowly decaying—trees wither and grass turns to ash as the Demon King's influence grows. Gameplay is divided into three-day cycles: during the day, you explore procedurally generated realms to gather equipment, and every third night, a terrifying boss begins its hunt. With a pool of over 30 potential bosses and 350+ items, the game emphasizes constant adaptation. You must decide whether to build for speed, raw health, or heavy armor, knowing that the gear that saved you today might be useless against the predator coming in three days.
Adapt or Perish: Every 72 hours, a new boss with unique mechanics (like armor-piercing or damage absorption) emerges. You must pivot your build to counter these specific threats.
Massive Item Pool: Over 350 items and artifacts allow for complex synergies. Combine a Saffron Feather with high speed for health regeneration, or use Razor Scales to reflect damage.
Strategic Trade-offs: With limited inventory space and time, every choice matters. Do you sharpen your blade at an ancient forge or pay a greedy merchant for a rare trinket?
"Kingmaker" Multiplayer: An asynchronous mode where your champion's build faces off against the builds of other players to claim the fallen Demon King's crown.
Meta Progression: Over 100 unique challenges unlock new artifacts for future runs, ensuring that even a "noble defeat" contributes to your ultimate success.
Atmospheric Decay: Watch the environment visually transform into a putrid bog as the Demon King nears his arrival.
