Released in late 2023, Rising has become a staple of the fighting game community. It replaces the original GBVS with a revamped mechanical system, including "Dash Attacks" and "Triple Attacks" for more dynamic neutral play. The game also includes the entire story from the first game, plus new chapters exploring the arrival of the terrifying Lucilius and the mysterious interdimensional rift.
As of May 2026, the game is in the middle of its Version 2.60 lifecycle. The latest update, released in March 2026, added Id from Granblue Fantasy: Relink to the roster, along with new stages and the "Arbitrator of the Shore" costume for Zooey. With a constant stream of Battle Pass rewards and a thriving tournament scene—including the upcoming Combo Breaker 2026 (May 24)—there has never been a better time to join the Skyfarers.
